Argentine illustrator David Pugliese exhibits the originals from the book SENTENCIAS at the Quei15 ART Gallery room
SENTENCIAS is a silent scream. It is a response to an attack. It is an exorcism.
These are images that sprang from a hurt interior, with anger and helplessness, alongside phrases that go round and round, that are said, that are heard and imposed.
«With this definition the author presents the 23 artworks that are the subject of this exhibition and have been collected in the book of the same name. It is a reflection in images on the endemic inability, throughout the history of humanity, to face problems without generating tension and confrontation. They are drawings inspired by the reality of a “social-mediated” world (messages, news, readings, comments in the street or at the DAVOS forum), which emerge from the paper as evidence of a permanent state of alert.
David Pugliese’s illustrations have the strength and sensitivity of great Argentine creators such as Alberto Breccia (Mort Cinder) or José Muñoz (Alack Sinner). A synthesis of styles enriched with the use of wash techniques, so characteristic of his illustrations and caricatures.
Alongside the exhibition, a series of workshops and activities have been scheduled with the artist to share his work:

David Pugliese, Buenos Aires 1978, has taken part in solo and group exhibitions in various countries and has been published in respected outlets such as SQP (USA), Orsai (Argentina) and El Jueves (Spain). He teaches drawing and illustration and is a founder of Entusiasta Gallery, together with Jésica Cichero.
The exhibition was held at Quei15 ART Gallery (Carrer de Wellington, 15 – 08018 Barcelona), from 18 May to 20 June.
