Stella Criscuolo joins the Quei15bcn artists' gallery. The subtlety of her line, the poetry of her drawings, was reflected in her recent exhibition: SINTONÍAS, on view until 25 March 2026.

A process spanning more than four decades

Stella Criscuolo lives devoted to drawing. Although self-taught at first, more than forty years ago her artistic process took a decisive turn when she discovered a method that required suspending every preconceived idea in order to learn to “truly see” the object, and to represent it with authenticity.

This renewed learning led to the spontaneous appearance of drawings that emerged as if “the hand were moved by another force”, recorded in the form of a graphic diary. Years later, Criscuolo took up the Japanese brush, an instrument that allowed her to flow effortlessly and without a prior plan, giving rise to forms that emerge as abstractions, rhythms, landscapes and structures coming, according to Stella, from “an invisible world full of possibilities”.

Sintonías: a dialogue with the invisible

The works brought together in this exhibition are part of the body of work the artist calls Divine Lines, whose specific chapter, Sintonías, encapsulates the way these pieces have taken shape: as if they were connections to a particular frequency or vibration.

Criscuolo describes the impulse that led her to share this work as follows: “These works have to fly and be seen, because they deserve better than to stay in a drawer – they are transmissions.”
