Miralls Tatuats

A multifaceted artist, subtly irreverent, an exquisite transformer of found objects which he turns into conceptual metaphors. With MIRALLS TATUATS Xesco Mercé reflects a universe of almost-possible objects that become real for the duration of a glance.

According to the artist, «the mirror and introspection are the pretext, or mcguffin, for the creation and blending of organic, mechanical or impossible images, which cut out their silhouette against a hazy, abyssal background, just like the silvering behind the glass of mirrors».

MIRALLS TATUATS is a series of collages –more than 100 works measuring 22 × 22 cm–, X-rays and photolithographs painted on metallic card, made in the spring of 2022 during a long convalescence.
