Manel Sanz

Manel Sanz’s photographic work is eclectic: from architecture and spaces to landscapes, via the creation of his own studio and the generation of new images with digital systems, especially in the recreation of moving images. He is a restless person, a reader of essays, poetry and the daily press.

The author works across different disciplines related to art and communication. His photography studies at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC) during the 1980s, and later his degree in Journalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), connect the two branches: image and communication.

He worked in press media and radio, and collaborated on communication tasks with a trade union organisation. Years later, at UPIFC (the graphic journalists’ union), he managed exhibition projects and was a member of the Council.

He is part of the Associació Quei15, a creative space that has enabled him to manage new photography projects and curate exhibitions, such as that of Carlos Bosch at the Palau Robert (2000) and at the Arxiu Nacional de Catalunya (2025), among others. He has also been director and screenwriter of two documentaries filmed in the Pallars region.
